Your tattoo. Your next chapter.

Your tattoo is part of your story. If you are ready for something different, we will help you explore the next step. BodyPoint in Lehi uses picosecond (Pico) laser technology to target unwanted ink with a personalized plan.

Picosecond pulses are measured in trillionths of a second. These very short bursts of light help break tattoo pigment into smaller particles. Your tattoo’s colors, depth, location and your skin all help guide treatment choices and realistic expectations.

What Is Pico Laser Tattoo Removal?

Pico laser tattoo removal is a non-surgical treatment that uses very short pulses of light to target tattoo ink beneath the skin’s surface. The energy creates a photoacoustic effect that helps break pigment into smaller particles.

Your body’s immune system gradually clears some of these fragments between sessions. That is why fading is a process—not an instant erase. The aim is progressive lightening, with time for your skin to heal and a plan tailored to your response.

Plan. Treat. Recover. Reassess.

01 · Plan your next step

Start with your goals: removal, meaningful fading or preparation for a cover-up. We assess the tattoo’s size, age, colors and location, review your skin and medical history, and discuss a personalized plan and session estimate.

02 · Target the ink

Laser time is often around 10–20 minutes, depending on the tattoo; your visit may take longer. Treatment can feel like rapid rubber-band snaps. We discuss comfort measures before starting, then explain the aftercare that fits your treatment.

03 · Let your body do its part

Light energy is absorbed by tattoo pigment. The very short pulses help fragment ink, while your body does the gradual clearance work over time. Different ink colors absorb different wavelengths, so suitability and response must be assessed individually.

Progress is reviewed between visits. Some colors or deeply layered tattoos need more treatment, and complete removal is not always possible.

Why explore Pico laser treatment?

Targeted technology

Short pulses target tattoo pigment as part of a gradual fading process. Your treatment estimate depends on your ink, skin and response.

Color-aware planning

Ink color matters. We assess black, blue, green and multicolor tattoos to discuss which pigments may respond and which may be more challenging.

Skin-conscious care

Your skin matters as much as the ink. Individual settings, aftercare and healing intervals are part of a thoughtful treatment plan.

Focused sessions

Laser time is often around 10–20 minutes, depending on size and detail. Allow time for preparation and skin recovery afterward.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

There is no one-size-fits-all number. Size, colors, ink depth and layering, tattoo location, skin and prior treatment all affect the plan. Some tattoos need several sessions; others need a longer course. The two patient examples on this page show progress after 4 and 2 treatments, not a predicted result for everyone.

The clinic’s usual discussion includes healing intervals of roughly 6–8 weeks, but your clinician may recommend longer based on your skin and progress. Your individual estimate is discussed at consultation.

Is There Any Downtime?

Plan for skin recovery even if you can return to many daily activities. Redness, swelling, tenderness, blistering or scabbing may occur. Keep the area clean and protected, avoid picking, and follow the aftercare and sun-protection instructions we provide.

Healing time varies. Skin-color or texture changes, burns, scarring and infection are possible, so it is important to review risks and your medical history before treatment.

When Will I See Results?

Fading happens between visits as your body clears fragmented pigment. Comparing photos over time can help you see and discuss progress. Some tattoos lighten sooner than others; further treatment or residual pigment may remain.

How Long Will Results Last?

Ink that has been successfully removed does not require a routine maintenance treatment. Some pigment can remain, however, and complete removal or restoration of your original skin appearance cannot be guaranteed.
